IIEC will do so by :

Networks of Professionals

Outlets to share methods, techniques, tools and case studies of what
does and does not work
- Providing
Training of skills and practices within the field

the awareness and application of the use of Environmental
Communication to solve environmental problems

- Providing
Environmental Communication Services, Strategy Development, and
Consulting

- Working
with government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector to
demonstrate environmental communication
The
International Institute for Environmental Communication is a non-profit
(501x3) organization formed to teach the tools of environmental
education and communication. This organization will serve the
multi-disciplinary field with information, training, and applications of
the strategies, methods and tools of environmental communication. The
burgeoning field of environmental communication comes from efforts in a
number of important fields.
The Institute will serve the nexus of the fields of environmental
education, social marketing, environmental journalism, interpersonal and
mass media, , behavioral science, environmental interpretation, risk
communication, environmental public relations and outreach,
environmental health practitioners, governmental and corporate public
awareness, and environmental campaigns. It will provide the field with
publications, organizational development, and assistance with the
professionalization of this field. |
